Robert Parish
August 30, 1953 - Robert Lee Parish is a retired American basketball center. A nine-time NBA All-Star center, Robert Parish played for the Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets and Chicago Bulls from 1976 to 1997. Nicknamed ‘The Chief’ because his staid demeanor mimicked that of a similarly named-character in ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,’ Parish was part of the Boston Celtics ‘Big Three’ along with Larry Bird and Kevin McHale. Parish was a starter on the Celtics’ teams that won the NBA title in 1981, 1984 and 1986. He also won a championship with the Bulls in 1997. Parish was named to the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1996. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.
